Kindergarten Judaics Curriculum

In the Gan, the Hebrew and Judaics portions of the curriculum are interwoven throughout the day and are integrated into each of the curricular themes.
- The Gansters learn Hebrew songs and play games in Hebrew and before they know it, they are independently using the language. They are introduced to the Hebrew alphabet and experiment in writing Hebrew letters. See an example. Children learn Israeli songs and hear modern Israeli children's literature, and the Gansters perform songs in Hebrew at many Rosh Chodesh (new month) celebrations.

Celebrating Jewish holidays is an integral part of the Gan curriculum. Through stories, music and art, children become familiar with the ideas, rituals and customs behind each holiday. In the Gan, there is a parent Shabbat helper each week, and that child's family visits and reads a special story to the class.
- A strong connection is made to the text of the Torah through discussion, stories, and projects relating to the weekly Parasha (Torah portion).
- The Gansters learn tefillah (prayers) and brachot (blessings) in Hebrew and English, and discuss how they relate to our daily lives.
