The HDS Board of Directors is delighted to share the news that Rabbi Will Keller will be the next Head of School at Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor.
Rav Will comes to us from the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Bryn Mawr, PA, where he has served, since 2016, as Director of Jewish Life. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles–as both an educator and an administrator–at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale (NY) and at Kinneret Day School (also in Riverdale). Rav Will holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Oregon and a Masters in Jewish Education from Hebrew College in Newton, MA. He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Jewish Studies from the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem, was ordained as a Rabbi by Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in 2016, and will soon complete the Day School Leadership Training Institute program at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Rav Will will join us in Ann Arbor this summer along with his wife, Yael, and their three children.
Rav Will is deeply committed to the value of pluralism in the Jewish community. He strongly believes in not only the importance of meeting each child where they are as a learner, but also the importance of meeting each family where they are on their journey as Jews. Throughout the search process, Rav Will exhibited a warmth and earnestness that will enable him to build connection with people across the full range of our community. In these respects, Rav Will is an especially appropriate successor to our outgoing Head of School, Jennifer Rosenberg, whose leadership these many years has been rooted in the same values and imbued at all times with warmth, kindness, and a welcoming spirit.
We look forward to welcoming Rav Will to HDS!
