Substitute Teacher:
Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor is seeking qualified substitute teachers to add to our substitute list. Though not required, ideal applicants will have experience teaching elementary school (K-5), teaching certification in the State of Michigan, and a commitment to a developmentally appropriate, student-centered, team approach to teaching and learning. Responsibilities:

Implement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher, or consult with the principal or other responsible staff if the lesson plan is not provided
Maintain a clean, respectful, safe, and orderly classroom, and follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the school
Send a report to the regular teacher at the end of the day
Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
Keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents
Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Ensure the safety of students at all times

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree, or between 30 and 60 college semester hours
Valid teaching credential preferred
Experience working with children and students preferred
Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
Must be punctual and reliable
Ability to pass a background check
Fluency in Hebrew is an added benefit
