As a part of their learning about writing and editing biographies, first and second grade students spent the afternoon today with Former Head of School turned author, Dina Shtull.  Last year, Dina wrote and published her debut book, “Why the Rabbi Played Clarinet in the Sauna” – a tribute to her father based on a collection of stories from her memories.  Dina spent time explaining her writing and editing process to the students, walking them through the chronology of creating a book.  She shared her search for an illustrator, her family’s involvement and her passion for the details.  This week, the students will be working on writing their own biographies as they interview teachers and staff around the JCC and HDS.
